About LABSbN-MX

LABSbN-MX is an academic initiative dedicated to applied research in Nature-based Solutions (NbS). Based at the National School of Higher Studies, León Campus (ENES León) of the UNAM, we work at the intersection of science, design, and sustainability.

We believe in the power of evidence-based landscape planning and design to drive urban transformation. Our approach combines co-creative and adaptive methodologies, grounded in the concepts of socio-ecosystems and long-term sustainability.

What We Do

Our mission is to contribute to the development of sustainable, resilient communities through the integration of nature into cities and regions. We address urgent environmental and territorial challenges with innovative, locally adapted solutions.

Landscape Architect from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and  a PhD in Design from Kyushu University, Japan. Since 2015, I have been a Full-Time Professor at the National School of Higher Studies, León Campus (ENES León), UNAM. I belongs to the National System of Researchers (SNI) in Mexico, since 2020.

My work focuses on interdisciplinary research in Nature-based Solutions, with particular interest in how green infrastructure contributes to sustainable urban and regional development in Mexico. This includes studying public green space appropriation and eco-gentrification processes.
